Felling Takes Three
By Andrew Scott
Sometimes, when I'm bored, I'll go cut trees.
Trim the lower branches, then fell them.
Felling takes three cuts.
It's the slicing though, I find the most satisfying.
The bite, then the grip.
The even constant strokes. One after the other. The perfect, equal lengths.
It's really quite meditative.
I have a place in the woods I take the remains to dispose of them.
